View pending authorisations

This screen makes it easy for you to keep track of your credit card transactions before they appear on your statement. The currently selected card is displayed in the drop-down menu at the top of the page. To view transactions that are pending authorisation for another card account, select it from the drop-down menu and click the ‘Go’ button.

When you make a payment using your credit card, your available balance is reduced immediately, but the money itself might not be transferred from your account until the shop or business ‘settles’ its card transactions at the end of the day, or after a period of trading. This means that a transaction might take a number of days before it actually appears on your statement.

In addition, certain businesses (such as hotels and online retailers) might conduct 'pre-authorisation' checks to verify the status of your card and whether it holds sufficient funds, without actually charging you. In rare cases, a retailer might accidentally submit multiple authorisations. Whilst such an error might reduce your available balance, it would not necessarily result in a financial transaction. This screen gives you visibility of these situations. For an accurate view of your credit card balance you should refer to your statement.
